Today was an eventful day. Pastor John the other Tanzanian exchange pastor, Pastor Fred Njama, met with Bishop Brian Maas at the Nebraska Synod Office at it’s new site in far north Omaha. Then we visited Pastor Fred’s exchange church, Immanuel in Bellevue. We also got to have lunch with area pastors at an Old Chicago Restaurant.
Our next stop was Camp Carol Joy Holling, a part of Nebraska Lutheran Outdoor Ministries. It’s between Omaha and Lincoln. In Lincoln, we visited some of the churches Pastor Carolyn and Dave have been a part of, including Friedens where Pastor Carolyn served her internship several years ago, and Tabitha Health Services, an ELCA ministry. Pastor John went to the top of the state capitol to see the beautiful view of the city. Here, he’s on the north side of the capitol looking out over downtown Lincoln and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln city campus.
Later, we had dinner with Dave’s brother and family. It was a very long day!
